Payroll Administrator and HR Support
Solebury School seeks a highly organized and experienced person to serve in a full-time, twelve-month position as our Payroll Administrator in the Human Resources Department. This is a full-time, five-day per week position, reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources. This position's primary responsibility is to conduct all aspects of payroll administration, as well as providing support to the HR Director in all functions related to the employee lifecycle, particularly compliance and HRIS system data entry and reporting.
Essential functions:
- Payroll administration
- Process bi-monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Assist employees in setting up and/or changing direct deposit and tax forms
- Ensure W-2s are sent out correctly and on time
- Track all paid time off and adjust compensation and benefits as necessary
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding any payroll issues
- Update salaries and benefits annually and at other times as necessary
- Produce reports from iSolved as required; maintain master salary budget spreadsheet
- Input data for all annual surveys (PAISBOA, NBOA, PAIS, DASL, etc.)
- Human Resources support
- Set up new and terminate former employees in the HRIS/Payroll system (iSolved)
- Coordinate pre-employment processes including timely and professional communication with candidates; completion of all compliance requirements and paperwork; and maintenance of all related records
- Ensure all compliance requirements for every employee are up-to-date
- Coordinate all onboarding and onboarding processes
- Support the benefits administration process by maintaining a working knowledge of the school's benefit plans; assist in the open enrollment process and with employee questions
- Assist in planned and ad hoc HR projects, e.g. collection of employee feedback, support of employee-centered events, ACA reporting, production of 10955, audit support, etc.
- Support the HR Director in responding to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests as needed
- Support the recruitment efforts of the HR Director and the Special Projects Manager
- Produce and update various HR spreadsheets on general HR /payroll activity
- Coordinate in-house trainings
- Other duties/functions as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working with and mastery of sophisticated HRIS/Payroll system(s)
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; providing excellent, friendly and responsive service to all employees
- Ability to effectively and efficiently solve problems in a highly service-oriented manner and consistent with a caring culture
- Skilled with office applications and software (Google Forms, Docs, Sheets, Microsoft Excel/Word)
- 2+ years experience with payroll processing/management and 5+ years of experience as an administrative assistant or legal support or HR support
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deal with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines
- Ability to work with a varied and diverse array of people
- Very good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to effectively evaluate problems and apply knowledge to appropriate solutions
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Work primarily in a typical interior office environment
- Sit for long periods of time with daily use of computer screen
- Do tasks involving repetitive arm and hand movements
- Able to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend as necessary
- Able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Additional Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to pus a driver's test in school van
- Submission to full battery of background testing per PA state law
- Must have and maintain reliable transportation with the abilities to get to the school during inclement weather
- Be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-I9, or have a documented medical/religious exemption
