Bookkeeper
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded.
Responsibilities
-Accounts payable
-Accounts receivable
-Filing
-Calculating and processing each intercompany portion of a communal bill
-Reconciliation of monthly bank statements
-Processing monthly fees for all properties
-Paying annual Real Estate and Personal Property taxes
-Manage annual dead storage files
-Troubleshoot tenants credit card discrepancies
-Troubleshoot tenant billing issues
-Process NSF checks when applicable
-Maintain & input new vendor files within Accounting CS platform—I.E. new addresses, company name change, change of company contact information, etc.
-Transfer and post funds from intercompany accounts—as needed
-Transfer funds for scheduled expenses (I.E. pension, Real Estate Taxes, IRS estimates, etc.)
-Pay intercompany loans and commercial loans--Monthly
-Record monthly interest if needed
-Process work comp and unemployment insurance as needed
-Process employee garnishments as needed
-Respond to employee issues related to payroll
-Process employee pension deferral election change form—Dec & June
- Run general ledger report, trial balance and financials for each company to ensure each company is balanced—Monthly
-Reconcile general ledger account #120—accounts receivable (July & December task)
-Process year end payroll, payroll taxes, W-2’s and 1099’s—Miscellaneous, Interest, Dividends (yearly task—must be completed by January 31st and another employee assists)
- Periodically answer questions from accountant pertaining to the books
- Process distributions to individuals and companies as needed
- Process monthly draws for companies and as needed
-Process payroll—biweekly
- Process payroll taxes quarterly, 941, 941N, 940 and unemployment state tax (NEWorks)
-Wages: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
