This position provides supervision and leadership to the RLS Document and Post Close Administrator team. Oversees the process of loan estimates, change requests, closing disclosures, funding of loans, post-close reviews include verification of data accuracy, pre and post-closing regulatory and compliance reviews on retail and wholesale loans. Works with Legal/Compliance and Sales to ensure documents and required activities are completed on time and compliant with required regulations.
Hires, develops, motivates, coaches, and evaluates, trains and rewards department team members.
Provides clear and timely communication and feedback to all team members on expectations and goals.
Promotes a positive work environment that leverages the talents and abilities of team members in achieving organizational and team goals.
Communicates business expectations and goals to team and is responsible for team's results.
Organizes and conducts regular team meetings and calls to remain up to date on department situations or topics.
Manages team work loads and adjusts as needed in order to remain as efficient as possible.
Conducts on-the-job training and guidance to address and clarify issues related to regulatory compliance processes and client service.
Manages the flow of loans, disclosures, closings, provides loan funds, communication with outside title companies and related vendors in secondary and internal portfolio programs.
Develops, implements and maintains efficient processes related to the pre-closing disclosures, property title review, and funding of consumer loans.
Reviews work completed by the team to ensure that industry standards and regulations are met to assist in reducing the number of exceptions.
Coordinates and leads strong client service with title companies and related third parties to ensure a seamless experience for borrowers for loan closings through physical and electronic closings.
Coordinates and leads team to accurately review investor guidelines to ensure loans sold to Freddie Mac and Farmer Mac meets requirements.
Leads and assists team as needed with Freddie Mac Sale preparation of Note Endorsements, Freddie Seller Advisor system, and collateral custodian shipment.
Leads and assists team as needed with Farmer Mac loan preparation of original document collection, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) Notices, Note Endorsements, collateral custodian shipment, and transfer of Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS) ownership.
Reviews reporting to assist team in adherence to compliance of Farm Credit Administration, Consumer lending regulations (B, C, E, G, V, X, Z), Fair Credit Reporting Act, Military Lending Act, Service Member Civil Relief Act, Flood, Right of Recession, Higher Priced Mortgage Loan (HPML), and RESPA Servicing compliance.
Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Associates' degree in business administration, management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
6-8 years of experience in consumer lending in a financial institution.
Three to five years of leadership and management experience preferred.
Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
Leadership skills to select, evaluate, engage, motivate, mentor, train, delegate, reward and lead remote team members.
Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Strong client service experience, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
Knowledge of accounting and finance principles (amortization schedules, P&I calculations, etc).
Knowledge of consumer compliance regulation (TRID, RESPA, Fair Lending, ECOA, etc).
Knowledge of consumer lending industry.
Knowledge of loan origination systems.
Knowledge of appraisal reporting (section/township/parcel).
Knowledge of credit underwriting and title principles.
Experience with reporting tools (SQL).
Valid driver's license.
