Assessing Specialist
Performs responsible, more difficult and complex clerical work including the delegating and coordinating of work of other clerical staff of a lower grade. Reviews and processes legal documents relative to property ownership and residency. Investigates and determines validity of Principal Residence Exemption Affidavits and Property Transfer Affidavits. Creates and maintains records relative to the appraisal of real and personal property. Prepares case files for Michigan Tax Tribunal appeals. Assists the Appraisal staff.
Requirements:
- High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
- ORIGINAL diploma or official SEALED transcripts REQUIRED at time of application.
- Must obtain Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT) professional designation from the Michigan State Tax Commission within 18 months of date of hire.
- One (1) year experience or currently working in an Assessing Department with significant experience regarding the laws and mandates set forth by the Michigan Department of Treasury.
Pay rate: $46,815/year - $59,553/year (AFTER 8 YEARS)
